Requirements

Bachelors Program

• Completion of an upper-secondary school program (10+2) conferring eligibility for university studies
• Proficiency in English (written and oral) using international proficiency test certificate TOEFL Scores 61-79 iBT, 172-213 (CBT) and 500-550 PBT or IELTS Scores 5.0-6.0 Band

Masters Program

• Completion of an undergraduate degree or diploma course of 3 or 4 years
• Proficiency in English (written and oral) using international proficiency test certificate TOEFL Scores 61-79 iBT, 172-213 (CBT) and 500-550 PBT or IELTS Scores 5.0-6.0 Band

Doctorate Program

• Completion of master’s degree with a major in the same subject as the intended field of study
• The major must have included a degree thesis presenting the results of independent research
• Specific requirements depending upon the subject
• Good command over English

TOEFL/IELTS

The International Study Programs are majorly taught in German and therefore Proficiency in English Language is a mandatory requirement for admissions. The candidates need to appear for TOEFL or IELTS tests which are the standardised tests for English Language Proficiency. Yet some of the universities just ask for an official proficiency in English Language Certificate from
the head of the university. TOEFL is the more preferred test.

TOEFL

The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test evaluates the ability of an individual to use and understand English in an academic setting and is acceptable by thousands of institutions across the world as the standard test for proficiency of English. And German universities are no exception and prefer TOEFL as a mandatory proof for the English Language Proficiency for Non European Union nationals.

TOEFL tests are conducted by ETS (Educational Testing Services) in thousands of test centers across the globe. Find the nearest test center through ETS and register for the Internet-Based Test for immediate results.

IELTS

The International English Language Testing System is an international standardised test for proficiency of English Language. IELTS is an optional test and the candidates do not need to appear for IELTS if they have already taken TOEFL test. For studies in Germany, IELTS Academic Version test needs to be taken.

IELTS tests can be taken in your country of residence as IELTS has more than 500 test centers all over the world. You can register for the test through the official IELTS website.
